A Concrete Admixture Is A Material Added During Batching Or Mixing To Change One Or More Properties Of The Concrete. It Is Usually Added In A Relatively Small, Controlled Quantity Compared With Cement, Water And Aggregate.

The Main Reason For Using An Admixture Is To Help The Concrete Meet A Specific Requirement More Efficiently. That Requirement Could Be Better Workability, lower water demand, a different setting time, improved pumping characteristics, reduced segregation or another fresh or hardened property.
