Long narrow paths can be measured as length × width × depth. If the path changes width, divide it into sections. Curves can be approximated with several short sections, but tighter or more decorative shapes may benefit from measuring the total formed area and using an area-and-depth method. Fence Posts, Pergola Posts And Small Footings

Post-hole concrete can add up quickly when there are many holes. Measure the actual diameter and depth of the holes after excavation where possible.
