Mini-mix concrete planning starts with the same basic geometry as any ready-mix order: work out how much three-dimensional space the concrete will occupy. Once the base volume is clear, add any practical allowance you intend to use and compare that planned quantity with the usable capacity quoted by the mini-mix supplier.
The important point is that mini-mix truck capacity is not hard-coded into this calculator. Suppliers can operate different vehicles, load limits and minimum-order policies, so the page lets you enter the actual usable cubic-metre capacity from the quote you are comparing.
Volume (m³) = Length (m) × Width (m) × Depth (mm ÷ 1000)
Measure the slab length and width in metres and use the required concrete depth in millimetres. A depth of 100 mm becomes 0.10 m before multiplication. Confirm the required depth from the project documents rather than choosing it from a generic calculator rule.

For a continuous trench, enter the total footing length. If you are estimating several identical footing sections, use the quantity field. Real excavations can be wider or deeper than their nominal design dimensions, which is one reason site measurements matter.

The round-hole mode treats each hole as a cylinder. Enter the hole diameter, not the post diameter, then multiply by the number of identical holes.
The calculator applies the percentage you enter after the base geometric volume is calculated. This keeps the original quantity visible instead of hiding a fixed buffer inside the result. The appropriate allowance depends on excavation accuracy, formwork, site conditions, access, placement method and supplier ordering increments.

Enter the usable concrete capacity per mini-mix delivery in cubic metres. The calculator divides your planned concrete quantity by this capacity and rounds up to a whole number of loads. If a supplier limits partial loads, has a minimum load or charges by a different rule, use the supplier quote as the controlling source.

Some quotations may include a minimum billable amount. The calculator lets you enter that volume separately. When a minimum charge volume is entered, the concrete-rate calculation uses the higher of the planned concrete quantity or the minimum billable volume. This affects the price estimate only; it does not change the physical concrete quantity shown at the top.
Enter your quoted concrete rate per cubic metre and, if applicable, a delivery fee per mini-mix load. The calculator adds those two components. It does not automatically include waiting time, after-hours surcharges, pumping, barrowing, labour, reinforcement, formwork, finishing or permit costs.
Mini-mix delivery can be useful when a project needs more concrete than is practical to hand-mix but does not require a large standard ready-mix load. Small slabs, footings, paths, pads, repairs and groups of post holes are common types of work people may evaluate with a mini-mix quote. The actual suitability still depends on access, supplier service area, truck dimensions, placement method and project timing.
Quantity is only one part of planning. Check how the truck can reach the site, where it can legally and safely stand, how far the concrete must move from the truck to the forms, and whether wheelbarrows, chutes, pumps or other placement equipment are required. Delays can matter because fresh concrete is time-sensitive.
